Cashier

Job Summary:
We are seeking a friendly, reliable, and customer-focused Cashier to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling transactions with customers, providing excellent service, and ensuring a positive shopping experience. The Cashier will also assist with maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the checkout area and supporting other store operations as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

Greet customers warmly and provide prompt, courteous service.

Accurately process sales transactions, returns, and exchanges using the point-of-sale (POS) system.

Handle cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring accuracy in all financial exchanges.

Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, including bagging areas and surrounding spaces.

Answer customer inquiries and provide information about products, promotions, and store policies.

Assist in stocking shelves, organizing displays, and maintaining overall store appearance.

Balance the cash drawer at the end of each shift and prepare bank deposits as required.

Follow all company policies and procedures, including those related to safety and loss prevention.

Collaborate with team members to ensure a smooth and efficient operation.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Previous cashier or retail experience preferred but not required.

Strong numerical skills and attention to detail.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with POS systems.

Positive attitude and a strong work ethic.

Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand for extended periods.

Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.

Ability to bend, stoop, and reach as needed.
