Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and organized Volunteer Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for recruiting, training, and managing volunteers to support our organization’s mission and programs. Key Responsibilities:

Recruitment: Develop and implement strategies to attract and onboard volunteers from diverse backgrounds.

Scheduling: Coordinate volunteer schedules to ensure adequate coverage for events, programs, and daily operations.

Retention: Foster a positive and inclusive environment to encourage volunteer retention and long-term engagement.

Recognition: Plan and execute volunteer appreciation initiatives to acknowledge their contributions.

Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for volunteers, addressing inquiries, providing updates, and maintaining regular communication.

Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of volunteer information, hours, and activities using a database or tracking system.

Collaboration: Work closely with staff and program managers to identify volunteer needs and align volunteer efforts with organizational goals.

Evaluation: Monitor and evaluate volunteer programs, providing feedback and recommendations for improvement.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Nonprofit Management, Social Work, or a related field (preferred but not required).

Proven experience in volunteer management, community outreach, or a similar role.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse groups of people.

Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and volunteer management software (e.g., VolunteerHub, SignUpGenius).

Passion for the organization’s mission and a commitment to fostering a culture of volunteerism.

Preferred Skills:

Experience working in a nonprofit or community-based organization.

Knowledge of local community resources and networks.

Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities.

Working Conditions:

This role may require occasional evening or weekend work to accommodate volunteer events and activities.
