Cybersecurity Analyst

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor and analyze security alerts, logs, and reports to identify potential threats or vulnerabilities.

Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses in systems and networks.

Investigate and respond to security incidents, including malware infections, data breaches, and unauthorized access attempts.

Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and best practices to protect organizational assets.

Collaborate with IT teams to ensure secure configuration of hardware, software, and network devices.

Stay up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies to proactively address emerging risks.

Perform risk assessments and provide recommendations to mitigate security risks.

Assist in the development and execution of incident response plans and disaster recovery strategies.

Conduct employee training and awareness programs to promote a culture of cybersecurity.

Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, ISO 27001).

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

years of experience in cybersecurity, information security, or a related role.

Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, CompTIA Security+, or GIAC are highly desirable.

Strong knowledge of firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), SIEM tools, and endpoint security solutions.

Proficiency in conducting vulnerability scans and penetration tests using tools like Nessus, Metasploit, or Burp Suite.

Familiarity with cloud security principles and practices (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure during security incidents.

Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to cybersecurity.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation and analysis.

Knowledge of network protocols, architecture, and security best practices.

Experience with forensic analysis and digital investigations.

Familiarity with zero-trust security models and identity management systems.
