Network Engineer

Job Summary:
The Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting our growing network infrastructure. This role requires a deep understanding of network hardware, software, and protocols, as well as the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network engineering, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and implement functional network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN).

Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS).

Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations.

Monitor network performance and integrity, ensuring high availability and reliability.

Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, including outages, performance degradation, and security breaches.

Collaborate with other IT team members to ensure seamless integration of network systems with other IT infrastructure.

Develop and maintain network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures.

Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption protocols.

Conduct regular network assessments and audits to identify and mitigate potential risks.

Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend improvements and innovations.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Proven experience as a Network Engineer or in a similar role.

In-depth knowledge of networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS).

Hands-on experience with network hardware (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Aruba) and software (e.g., Wireshark, SolarWinds).

Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices.

Experience with cloud networking (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus.

Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, CompTIA Network+) are highly desirable.

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
