Job Summary:
The Fisheries Officer will be responsible for overseeing the management, conservation, and sustainable use of aquatic resources within CrimsonPaw Pet Care. This role involves monitoring fish health, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, and implementing best practices in aquaculture. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fisheries management, a passion for aquatic life, and excellent organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor and maintain the health and well-being of fish and other aquatic species in our care.

Develop and implement sustainable aquaculture practices to ensure the long-term viability of aquatic resources.

Conduct regular inspections of aquatic habitats to ensure compliance with environmental and safety standards.

Collaborate with the veterinary team to diagnose and treat fish diseases or health issues.

Maintain accurate records of fish populations, water quality, and feeding schedules.

Educate staff and clients on best practices for fish care and sustainable aquaculture.

Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and advancements in fisheries management.

Assist in the planning and execution of breeding programs for endangered or commercially valuable species.

Ensure all equipment and facilities are properly maintained and operational.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Fisheries Science, Marine Biology, Aquaculture, or a related field.

Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in fisheries management or aquaculture.

Strong knowledge of fish health, water quality management, and sustainable practices.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in using relevant software for data recording and analysis.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in a related field.

Experience working in a pet care or aquatic facility.

Knowledge of local and international fisheries regulations.
